Trumpeter winery (Bodega La Rural) was founded in 1885 by Don Felipe Rutini. He had gained a lot of education and experience from his father's vineyards in Italy and when he migrated to Argentina he planted his first vines in Maipu, in the province of Mendoza. He introduced the French oak barrels for wine storage and other modern equipment. His next four generations were influenced by his work principle of the right use of labor and the virtue of persistence in hard work and carried on his legacy for years to come. They progressed by rigorous endeavor and installation of superior viticultural technologies to create superior international quality in winegrowing. Trumpeter winery still ensures the same taste and fragrance of their wines by the upkeepment of solid stainless steel containers, pneumatic presses, high efficiency crushers, vacuum pumps and filters and the good old, best quality French oak barrels. Their international popularity has been raised manifold in the last decade The winery offers specialties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Torrontes, Malbec, Merlot and Chardonnay. Their craft in winemaking and eye-catching new labels have arrested a lot of attention in international competitions as well as in the media. Even the Washington Daily Post has appreciated their outstanding oenological prowess.
